Who's it for?
- Anyone who sleeps rough in and around Dorchester and would like help with resettlement or is just passing through.
What's on offer?
- Support in dealing with problems.
- Help in contacting agencies such as Housing, DSS benefits, Job Centre, GP, drug & alcohol advice, mental health services, etc.
- Help with providing clothes, bedding, sleeping bags, in cooperation with the Salvation Army Shop in Trinity Street
- Hot drinks and a friendly atmosphere.
- A hot meal for those who have no means of cooking for themselves. Try to arrive before 11am so that you are sure of a meal. There might be a small charge for this.
- Visiting partner agencies offering appointments to service users, these include: Shelter, CADAS, CMHT, Nurse practitioner.
- Shower /washing/ shaving facilities; washing machine and dryer.
- Use of phone; providing an address.
- All rough sleepers over the age of 21 years are welcome.
- Service users must not be heavily under the influence of drugs or alcohol and will be asked to leave if they are.
- The Hub will provide food to all service users who are engaged with the service but a small charge might be made.
- The Hub has a zero tolerance policy towards drugs and alcohol.
- They must not be brought on to the premises or consumed within the surrounding area (for example around the side of the building). This protects both you and us.
- Anyone suspected of buying, selling or using drugs on the premises will be banned.
- The use of violence: physical, verbal or other is not tolerated towards other service users or staff. Service users acting in a violent manner will be requested to leave the premises.
